Cessna has lived in the Napa Valley since 1977 and has been practicing real estate since 1999.

Before joining Up Valley Real Estate in 2000 as a sales associate, Barrett started her career with an established real estate firm in Marin County and later became one of the youngest brokers in Napa County. She grew up in St. Helena, graduating from St. Helena High School before attending the University of Nevada, Reno.

In 2004, Chuck Dake, the previous owner of the company, sold the business to Cessna. She was the managing Broker for 10 agents. Cessna became the featured Broker for the Napa Valley Insights newsletter, a publication that educates you on real estate topics, connections within the community, and emerging trends in the business.

In 2010, Cessna merged Up Valley Real Estate with Heritage Sotheby's International Realty and became a Broker Associate so she could focus more of her time with her son.

Cessna is a member of the St. Helena and Calistoga Chamber of Commerce, Adopt a Highway, supporter and contributor of the Saints "Booster" Athletics Association and St. Helena Schools, Women's Emergency Services in Napa, the Boys and Girls Clubs, the SPCA, the Humane Society, Sunrise Stables, and Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
